USDA maintains wheat production forecast for Kazakhstan at 15.5 million tonnes for current marketing year that ends in June; wheat export estimates also unchanged at 8 million tonnes

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has maintained projections of wheat production by Kazakhstan this marketing year (July 2013 - June 2014) at 15.5 million tonnes.
Estimates of wheat exports also were kept unchanged at 8 million tonnes.
According to preliminary estimates, Kazakhstan has harvested 20.9 million tonnes of grain.
In 2012 Kazakhstan harvested 12.9 million tonnes of grain and legume crops, or a year-on-year decrease of 47.7%. The wheat crop accounted for 76.5% of the overall harvest.
