Pioneer Hi Bred International issued US patent for 'soybean variety XB32J11'

– United States Patent no. 8,569,585, issued on Oct. 29, was assigned to Pioneer Hi Bred International Inc (Johnston, Iowa).
"Soybean variety XB32J11" was invented by Debra K Steiger (Wauseon, Ohio) and Thomas C. Corbin (Monticello, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A novel soybean variety, designated XB32J11 is provided. Also provided are the seeds of soybean variety XB32J11, cells from soybean variety XB32J11, plants of soybean XB32J11, and plant parts of soybean variety XB32J11. Methods provided include producing a soybean plant by crossing soybean variety XB32J11 with another soybean plant, methods for introgressing a transgenic trait, a mutant trait, and/or a native trait into soybean variety XB32J11, methods for producing other soybean varieties or plant parts derived from soybean variety XB32J11, and methods of characterizing soybean variety XB32J11. Soybean seed, cells, plants, germplasm, breeding lines, varieties, and plant parts produced by these methods and/or derived from soybean variety XB32J11 are further provided."
The patent was filed on March 15, 2011, under Application No. 13/047,960.
