LONDON , June 23, 2013 (press release) – Tate & Lyle PLC (the “Company”) announces that it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of 25 pence each on the London Stock Exchange through Citigroup Global Markets UK Equity Limited:

Date of purchase: 21 June 2013

Number of ordinary shares purchased: 200,000

Highest purchase price paid per share: 814.25p

Lowest purchase price paid per share: 808.00p

The Company intends to hold these shares in Treasury to satisfy awards made under performance share plans.

Following the above transaction, the Company holds 252,166 of its shares in Treasury and has 467,941,254 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). This number represents the total voting rights in the Company and may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Tate & Lyle PLC under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
