WINNIPEG, Manitoba , June 3, 2013 (press release) – Cargill today announced plans to increase its rail capacity at its Rosetown, Saskatchewan grain elevator and crop inputs facility to 100 rail cars to better service North Saskatchewan farm customers. Prior to the expansion the facility was capable of loading 50 car units.

“We are committed to continued investment in the Western Saskatchewan region,” said Jeff Vassart, President, Cargill Limited. “We are confident that by increasing our rail capacity in Rosetown, we’ll be better positioned to offer our customers the services they’ve come to expect from Cargill for their evolving business needs,” added Vassart.

Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2013 with an anticipated completion date of fall 2013. Customers should expect minimal disruption throughout the expansion period and that the facility will continue to operate in a safe and efficient manner.

“Providing more opportunities for growers in the area and more efficient ways to move their grain is a top priority for Cargill and we will continue to look for ways to help our customers prosper,” said Blaine Duncan, Regional Manager, Cargill AgHorizons.

As part of Cargill’s commitment to continually create opportunities and efficiencies and to best service Canadian farmers, they also expanded their Kindersley rail car capacity to 100 cars in December 2012, granting their customers a more competitive advantage with additional access to western markets.
