World coffee exports amount to 9.6 million bags in April, up 4.3% from year-ago period, International Coffee Organization says; exports in first seven months of 2012-2013 coffee year up 7.1% to 66 million bags

LONDON , May 31, 2013 (press release) – World coffee exports amounted to 9.60 million bags in April 2013, compared with 9.19 million in April 2012. Exports in the first 7 months of coffee year 2012/13 (Oct/12 to Apr/13) have increased by 7.1% to 65.98 million bags compared to 61.61 million bags in the same period in the last coffee year. In the twelve months ending April 2013, exports of Arabica totalled 68.21 million bags compared to 65.04 million bags last year; whereas Robusta exports amounted to 45.64 million bags compared to 38.38 million bags.
