France's SNF to build petrochemical facility at Lukoil subsidiary Saratovorgsintez's industrial site in Saratov, Russia; project will produce 50,000 tonnes/year of acrylamide, 30,000 tonnes/year of polyacrylamide

May 24, 2013 (RCCnews) – French company SNF is to collaborate with Lukoil in establishing petrochemical production at an industrial site operated by Saratovorgsintez, a Lukoil subsidiary. A facility will produce acrylamide and polyacrylamide. The first stage of the project will have acrylamide capacity of 50,000 tonnes/y and polyacrylamide capacity of 30,000 tonnes per year. Commissioning is due in 4Q 2016. In a second stage polyacrylamide output is to increase to 60,000 tonnes/y. Should market conditions prove favorable, polyacrylamide capacity will increase to 100,000 tonnes/y. year. Saratovorgsintez will supply feedstock, acrylonitrile.
