Softwood kraft pulp producer Canfor Pulp LP today told customers in North America that its Dec. 1 list prices would be unchanged.
The company did not make a formal announcement, rather telling customers its prices would remain at US$870/tonne for northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp and $830/tonne for unbleached kraft pulp (UBK).
Canfor Pulp has yet to state its Dec. 1 intentions for other markets.
Also today Resolute Forest Products Inc. said it would keep its softwood kraft pulp list prices unchanged in North America, with NBSK at $870/tonne and southern bleached softwood kraft (SBSK) at $830/tonne. Resolute is raising its Dec. 1 prices of northern and southern hardwood kraft pulp to $755/tonne.
Earlier this week Domtar Corp. told customers it would keep its Dec. 1 NBSK and SBSK prices unchanged, at $870/tonne and $830/tonne, respectively. The Dec. 1 plans of other North American softwood kraft pulp producers are not known at this time.
Canfor Pulp, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, has three mills in Prince George, British Columbia. Two mills produce NBSK exclusively, including 590,000 tonnes/year at the Northwood mill and 320,000 tonnes/year at the Intercontinental mill. The third mill, the Prince George mill, produces 120,000 tonnes/year of UBK, 15,000 tonnes/year of semi-bleached pulp and 135,000 tonnes/year of kraft paper.
