LONDON , October 15, 2012 () – Chanel's No.5 scent, which is famously the only thing Marilyn Monroe ever wore in bed, might just get Brad Pitt between the sheets - so it seems judging by their much hyped new campaign.

Pitt is the first male to endorse the perfume in it 91 year history.

Chanel has also released a number of mini videos - a maximum of just eight seconds each featuring the father-of-six.

In one he can be seen staring broodily at the camera as he meditates on the ways of the world and one, undisputable, inescapable true love.

"What's important to remember about Chanel No5 is how revolutionary this fragrance is. When it was introduced, it broke all the rules by discarding meaningless ornamentation for an honest and open aesthetic, and a scent which embodies liberation from trend, creating a fragrance which remains as modern today as it was during it's inception. Chanel No5 has always been the most iconic women's fragrance," the Daily Mail quoted Pitt as saying in a statement.

"The beauty of its success for all these years is both elegantly simple and complex at the same time. That's what I see being the appeal of this campaign ; it goes beyond the abstract of emotion or beauty to evoke what is timeless, a woman's spirit," he said.

Joe Wright, whose previous works include two Keira Knightley movies 'Atonement' and 'Anna Karenina', shot the full commercial that will premiere in full on 15th October.

In one sneak preview black-and-white photographs for the new campaign, artist Sam Taylor-Wood has captured the actor and director in a contemplative, mid-shoot mood.

It was revealed back in May that the Hollywood A-list star was going to front Chanel's new campaign.

"To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view. It is the first time we've had a man speaking about a women's fragrance," Andrea d'Avack, a spokesman for Chanel, said.

"We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume. No.5 is our leading fragrance, and we are willing to make the investment to keep it on that level," d'Avack added. (ANI)
