Wendy's COO Steve Farrar to retire effective April 20, company announces

Wendy’s Co. has announced that COO Steve Farrar will retire effective April 20, Nation’s Restaurant News reported March 23.
John Peters, Wendy’s senior vice president of North American operations, will take over Farrar’s duties in regards to business activities and operations for Wendy’s franchised and company-owned restaurants in Canada and the U.S.
Wendy’s does not intend to replace Farrar.
From 1992 to 2006, Farrar served as the senior vice president of Wendy’s western division, a which point he accepted an early retirement package as part of the company’s strategic realignment in 2006. He then rejoined the company in 2008, replacing former COO Dave Near.
Wendy’s, which is based out of Dublin, Ohio, franchises or operates more than 6,500 restaurants around the world.
