HAMBURG, Germany , March 7, 2012 (press release) – Already the first results indicate a great success and the numbers for 2012 also suggest the success will continue.

With the launch of the NIVEA Visage Pure & Natural range in 2011, Beiersdorf fulfilled the needs of consumers to a “T.” Already in the first year the new product range NIVEA Visage Pure & Natural has had more sales in many markets than the products of its strongest competitors. The first sales numbers of NIVEA Visage Pure & Natural speak for themselves: About one year after the launch the skincare range has netted 18% higher results than expected, positioning Beiersdorf in the growing market of natural cosmetics and corresponding to the wish of many consumers for natural and highly effective skincare products. “The Pure & Natural series from NIVEA Visage more than met our expectations. The team can be really proud. As a result of this great success, the assortment will be expanded in 2012 to include additional products,” said Ralph Gusko, Board Member Brands.

In many European countries NIVEA Visage became the market leader in natural skincare with Pure & Natural in the first year. The largest numbers after Germany, came from France and Italy.

Naturally Effective Care

The NIVEA Visage Pure & Natural care series, which consists of a cleanser, a facial tonic, two day creams and an anti-aging day and night skincare cream, contains up to 95% natural ingredients or ingredients that come from natural sources. Their active ingredients, like the valuable argan oil, come from ecological cultivation. They contain no silicone, parabens or dyes and offer intensive care for all those who prefer natural products, without wanting to compromise effectiveness or care. These select new formulas and ingredients make the case all the way down the line: in September 2011 in Germany, the day care cream for normal and combination skin was given a rating of “Very Good” by an independent eco-test. In France consumers voted NIVEA Visage Pure & Natural as their new favorite and honored the anti-wrinkle products with the Produit de l’annee award.

In 2012 the Success Story Continues

At the beginning of 2012, the existing assortment of Pure & Natural was already expanded to include the night cream NIVEA Visage. The regenerating night cream contains an innovative formula of organic argan oil and organic aloe vera providing the skin with extra moisture over night.
