The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) — Egypt’s state-owned wheat buyer — has purchased 180,000 tonnes of U.S. wheat for shipment April 11-20, Dow Jones Newswires reported Feb. 15.
According to an official, the GASC bought 60,000 tonnes of wheat from Venus for US$259 a ton, and also bought two orders of 60,000 tonnes from Bunge Ltd. for $259 a tonne.
