Aeon's operating profit up 9% year-over-year to 101.82B yen during March to November period

LOS ANGELES , January 6, 2012 () – Aeon Co. Ltd., the second-largest retailer in Japan behind Seven & I Holdings Co. Ltd., announced that its operating profit between March 2011 to November 2011 rose by 9% to 101.82 billion yen ($1.32 billion) in comparison to the same period during the previous year, The Chicago Tribune reported on Jan. 6.

Aeon predicts that its annual operating profit for the business year that ends in February 2012 will be between 195 billion yen to 205 billion yen. In a poll conducted by Thomson Reuters Corp.’s I/B/E/S division, a group of 13 analyses predicted that, on average, Aeon’s annual operating profit for the business year that ends in February 2012 would be
199 billion yen.
