LOS ANGELES , January 5, 2012 () – Green tea is of interest to 73% of U.S. fast-casual and casual-restaurant consumers because it’s healthy and rich in antioxidants, making it the most appealing flavor for hot or iced tea, Technomic reported Jan. 5.

Also, 61% of consumers like lemon-flavored tea while 60% like the honey variety, the report said.

The findings are part of Technomic’s new report that focuses on how coffee and tea are becoming the top beverage choices for many restaurant consumers. The report also stated that 60% of consumers drink regular hot coffee on a regular basis while 34% routinely drink dispensed iced tea.
