LOS ANGELES , December 14, 2011 () – Hambro Forest Products, which manufactures particleboard from sawmill and plywood mill residues under the Cresdek and Cres-X brand names, has closed its two California facilities in Arcata and Crescent City, and its plant in Lenoir, North Carolina.

According to a Dec. 13 report by Random Lengths, Hambro plans to sell its Lenoir and Arcata plants, but will mothball its operation at Crescent City so that it could reopen if or when market conditions allow.

The company, which has been in operation since 1964,  attributed the closures to a prolonged downturn in demand.
