LUSANNE, Sweden , November 8, 2011 (press release) – Tetra Pak, the world leader in food processing and packaging solutions, today opens a Product Development Centre (PDC) in Shanghai, China. The centre provides local dairy and beverage companies with the processing, packaging and powder handling equipment as well as expertise that will enable them to quickly and efficiently develop high quality products.

Part of Tetra Pak China’s Technology Development and Manufacturing Centre, the PDC allows customers to respond to the increasingly diverse needs of the beverage and dairy market in China. The combination of urbanization, a rapidly growing middle class and changes in beverage consumption have driven the rapid development of Tetra Pak customers’ product lines, categories and flavours. Creating new products can involve long development time lines and high costs; therefore, Tetra Pak is applying its industrial and market knowledge and expertise to help customers create new product solutions.
