LOS ANGELES , October 31, 2011 () – Kellogg’s will be adding vitamin D to its range of children’s breakfast cereals in an effort to combat the rising number of children suffering from rickets, PackagingNews.co.uk reported Oct. 31.

Scientists have linked rickets to a lack of vitamin D. Rickets can cause weak bones and bowed legs.

Kellogg’s introduced vitamin D into its Cornflakes brand earlier this year and is now adding vitamin D to its Coco Pops and Rice Krispies brands.
