New Energy Farms (NEF) announces the formation of a strategic Alliance with Global Green Engineered Fuels, LLC (GGEF), a renewable energy project development company based in Savannah, Georgia. The trade name is the Green Energy Farms Alliance (GEFA) which will focus on the creation of a diverse solid biofuel product portfolio, driven by high energy values; competitive and stable fuel pricing; optimum sustainability of raw material feedstock resources; and exceptional combustion performance characteristics.
The principals of GGEF have decades of experience in wood fiber and woody biomass as well as logistics, distribution, marine terminal operations, ocean transportation and supply chain management.Presently, Green Energy Farms Alliance is involved in two project developments on a parallelbasis. These projects include ongoing development of a wood fuel manufacturing and distribution plant outside the perimeter of the Atlanta metropolitan area and a dual Miscanthus and wood biofuel manufacturing and distribution plant in southwest Georgia (US).
The area is located in the heart of GEFA’s designated Miscanthus agricultural belt which has an abundant availability of non performing crop and timber lands and runs through the most economically deprived regions of Georgia. GEFA’s focus on non performing crop and timber lands will not have an effect on the Georgia food crop and “cash” crop industries which rely solely on premium, nutrient rich soils.
Industrial grade biofuel pellets derived from woody biomass or Miscanthus energy crops will make up GEFA’s Phase I energy fuel product portfolio and GEFA will target the UK/EU power industry market. In Phase I, GEFA’s identified resources will yield 1 million tons of sustainable combined production of Miscanthus and woody biomass industrial pellet fuel products.
