Canadian newspaper publisher Postmedia Network acquires Internet content company Sprouter, complementing its digital strategy

TORONTO , October 5, 2011 (press release) – Postmedia Network today announced that it has acquired Sprouter Inc., an Internet content company that specializes in the areas of technology, digital media, entrepreneurship and startups. Through the acquisition, Sprouter Inc. becomes a division of Postmedia Network Inc. Sprouter will continue to operate under the Sprouter name and branding under the leadership of Sarah Prevette.

Sprouter was founded in 2009 by Sarah Prevette, who was named by Inc. Magazine as one of the top entrepreneurs in North America in 2010. Sprouter.com, has become the go-to spot for tech entrepreneurs looking for advice and connections with others in the global start-up community.
