FEDERAL WAY, Washington , September 8, 2011 () – Trus Joist® TJI® joists from Weyerhaeuser – one of the most well-known structural framing products on the market – have again come out on top in a nationwide survey of building product quality. The Builder magazine "2010 Brand Use Survey" of 10,800 builders, builder-developers and general contractors scores TJI joists at 6.04 on a scale of 1 to 7 (where 7 is "excellent"), higher than any other I-joist brand. Building professionals also listed TJI joists as the brand they used most. www.trusjoist.com

"TJI® joists have been the definitive brand of wood I-joist since Trus Joist pioneered this class of building product more than 40 years ago," said Don Schwabe, Director of Marketing and U.S. Sales for Engineered Lumber Products, Weyerhaeuser. "Builders like them because they resist bowing, twisting and shrinking to help create solid, quiet, high-performing floors. Another factor that makes TJI joists stand out is Weyerhaeuser's unmatched field support to builders in optimizing their use, along with all other materials in the framing package. Our sales team members and engineering staff work closely with builders, reviewing plans and recommending solutions for cost-effective, top-quality results."

TJI joists are part of Weyerhaeuser's full range of products and services for quality structural floors. In addition to other trusted floor products such as Trus Joist® TimberStrand® LSL rim board, Parallam® PSL beams, Framer Series® Lumber and Edge Gold™ floor panels, Weyerhaeuser offers the TJ® Pro Rating System for predicting floor performance. Builders can use the ratings to analyze multiple options for joist size, spacing, span and floor panel thickness to choose a configuration that best meets the homeowner's needs.
