Bong to stop envelope production at its Soignie, Belgium, site, to transfer production to other locations, cut 60 workers within Q3, Q4

LOS ANGELES , August 31, 2011 () – Swedish envelope and packaging producer Bong AB said it would no longer produce envelopes at its Soignie, Belgium, site, resulting in 60 layoffs, reported Euwid on Aug. 30.

While the printing plant and sales office will remain open, envelope operations will be transferred to other locations, most likely to German sites, said a company spokeswoman..

The layoffs will go into effect throughout the third and fourth quarters.

According to the company website, Bong produces and provides envelopes, packaging materials and corporate branding. It operates from numerous facilities across Europe.
