LOS ANGELES , August 22, 2011 () – Fort Wayne, Indiana-based paper and packaging goods company Bridge Packaging LLC has launched Bridge Plastics Manufacturing to produce poly bubble film, Plastics News reported Aug. 19.

Bridge Plastics will produce poly air bubble and bubble laminates at a new site in Fort Wayne’s Urban Enterprise Center, for distribution to customers in the Midwest, Plastics News reported, citing a company statement.

The move is a first step in a line of anticipated equipment acquisitions that will allow the company to make roughly 35% of the product it distributes, according to Gary Elliot, president of the company.

The new unit will be the only bubble-type film producer in the state, Elliot added. The company forecasts sales to be in the US$3-$4 million range for its first three years.

Bridge distributes products such as polyethylene bags and films, stretch films and void-fill packaging, Plastics News noted.
