Brandywine Homes purchases 2.2-acre site in Buena Park, California, to build 18-home community, expected to be completed by December 2012

IRVINE, California , August 17, 2011 (press release) – A church needing money to expand and a developer eager to build in Buena Park have found common ground.

Brandywine Homes has purchased a 2.2 acre site at 8901 Holder St. in Buena Park from Bethel Lutheran Church, which will use the sale's proceeds to expand its facilities.

Brandywine will build an 18-home community named Hampton on the site, featuring two-story homes whose floor plans offer nearly 2,400 and 2,600 square feet.

"It works for us and works for them," said Brett Whitehead, president of Brandywine Homes, which has become one of Southern California's most successful builders by creating small and mid-sized infill communities. "We've been looking for the right project in Buena Park for 10 years. The city has been great to work with. It's an outstanding location in a family-oriented community known for its schools."

Hampton is less than two miles from the prestigious Oxford Academy, in Cypress, recently honored as a 2001 California Distinguished School.

The spacious homes at Hampton will feature four bedrooms with one of them downstairs and will be priced in the low- to mid-$600,000 range.

"Hampton will fill a void that's out there," said Whitehead. "Lots of builders have gone to smaller projects. We think bedroom count is key and wanted to deliver something larger than the resale market has to offer."

Construction on the model homes will begin in August and Brandywine expects the community to open for sale in the first quarter of 2012.

Hampton's architect is KTGY. The community will be completed by December, 2012.
