CHEYENNE, Wyoming , July 22, 2011 () – A potential buyer has expressed interest buying the full capacity of a planned transmission line to carry Wyoming wind power to Colorado.

LS Power is the developer of the Wyoming Colorado Intertie line, which will stretch 180 miles from near Wheatland to near Brush, Colo.

Adam Gassaway of LS Power has declined to identify the potential buyer.

News of a potential buyer will likely speed up the development schedule for the 345-kilovolt, 850-megawatt capacity line.

Gassaway tells the Casper Star-Tribune that the line could go into service in 2016.

LS Power is developing the transmission line in partnership with the Wyoming Infrastructure Authority.
