FirstEnergy Corp. says it's named the head of its West Virginia operations once its acquisition of Allegheny Energy Inc. is finished.
FirstEnergy says Allegheny official James R. Haney, of Morgantown, will become president of West Virginia operations when the deal is completed. The appointment was announced Thursday.
Ohio-based FirstEnergy agreed to buy Allegheny for $4.7 billion in stock last February.
Haney has been with Allegheny since 1978 and has worked his way up from engineer through management ranks.
