Plum Creek Timber Company, Inc. (NYSE: PCL) today announced it completed the third and final phase of its previously announced sale of western Montana forestlands to The Nature Conservancy and The Trust for Public Land. Plum Creek received $89 million in cash for approximately 70,000 acres of land. Previous phases of this project closed in 2008 and 2009.
Plum Creek is the largest and most geographically diverse private landowner in the nation with approximately 7 million acres of timberlands in major timber producing regions of the United States and wood products manufacturing facilities in the Northwest.
