An order recently secured from China will see the Hampton Affiliates owned Decker Lake Forest Products (DLFP) mill running on a full time basis in January 2010.
According to David Garcia, regional manager of Canadian operations for Hampton Affiliates a new export order for China will see both the planer and the sawmill in operation for one shift each.
Currently the sawmill is down at DLFP and will remain down during the last three weeks leading up to Christmas.
"The planer will remain operating over December with one shift," Garcia added.
Things are also looking up at Hampton Affiliates owned Babine Forest Products (BFP).
BFP are currently running on a full time schedule for the remaining two weeks of December due to more positive market conditions.
"The market had come up enough to allow BFP to run with a full time schedule," Garcia said.
According to Garcia, BFP will be down again over the Christmas and New Year period then as of Jan. 4, 2010 the mill will be back up and running on a full time basis.
"This will continue for as long as the market dictates," added Garcia.
