European Union extends restrictive measures on Nicaragua until October 15, 2025; candidate countries and EFTA nations align with Council Decision

On 8 October 2024, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/2665¹.

The Council Decision extends the existing restrictive measures until 15 October 2025 and updates the statement of reasons in respect of two natural persons and one entity listed in the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2019/1720.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina² and Georgia, as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.
