European Union expands sanctions on entities destabilizing Moldova; nine countries align with Council Decision (CFSP) 2024/2701 amending restrictive measures

On 14 October 2024, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/2701¹ amending Decision (CFSP) 2023/891 concerning restrictive measures in view of actions destabilising the Republic of Moldova.

The Council added five persons and one entity to the list of natural and legal persons, entities and bodies set out in the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2023/891.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina², as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
