EU welcomes alignment of certain countries with 2024/2012 Council Decision on Libya; North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, and more commit to restrictive measures

On 22 July 2024, the Council adopted Council Implementing Decision (CFSP) 2024/2012¹.

The Council Implementing Decision amends the lists of persons and entities subject to restrictive measures as set out in Annexes II and IV to Decision (CFSP) 2015/1333, and maintains the restrictive measures against all other persons and entities mentioned in those lists.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina² and Georgia, as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
