EU aligns countries with Council Decision on Iran restrictive measures; candidate countries and EFTA members support amendments in Decision 2024/2075 including removal of entities from lists

On 26 July 2024, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/2075¹ amending Decision 2010/413/CFSP concerning restrictive measures against Iran.

The Council decided that the entries concerning two persons and four entities designated in Annex II to Decision 2010/413/CFSP should be removed from that Annex. The restrictive measures against all other persons and entities in the list set out in Annex II to Decision 2010/413/CFSP should be maintained, insofar as their names are not mentioned in Annex VI to that Decision, and 56 entries included in Annex II should be updated. Moreover, all entries in Annex V to that Decision should be deleted.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina², as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.
