Edwards Lifesciences joins Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council; Edwards’ sustainability efforts focus on greenhouse gas emission reduction, materials and chemical stewardship, package design and innovation, supply chain management

The Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC) is excited to welcome as a new member, Edwards Lifesciences the global leader in patient-focused medical innovations for structural heart disease and critical care monitoring.

Edwards’ environmental-focused sustainability efforts focus on several areas, including package design and innovation, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, supply chain management and resiliency, and materials and chemical stewardship.

HPRC is currently engaged in multiple initiatives aimed at enabling recycling of healthcare plastics, including research into advanced recycling technologies to recycle mixed stream healthcare plastics, a study of reverse logistics processes for collecting, segregating, and preparing healthcare plastic waste for transport, and focused outreach and engagement with recyclers.
