It is with sadness and disappointment that we follow the news in Ukraine and the suffering of the Ukrainian people at the hands of the Russian military.
All Ukrainian citizens, and especially those involved in the packaging industry, are upheld by the WPO. The WPO sympathises with those engaged in the packaging industry in Russia who speak out against the military actions of Russia in Ukraine.
I reach out to the global packaging community to unite in spreading the call to end hostilities in this region experiencing the devastating conflict. It is critical that Russia ends hostilities in Ukraine immediately and re-opens the door to dialogue and diplomacy with immediate effect.
Most importantly, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine is to be respected, requiring immediate withdrawal of all troops and all military activity.
WPO stands for open, respect-filled dialogue that result in development with benefit for all and peace in all regions where the integrity of all citizens is supported and upheld.
Join me in praying for a swift cessation of all military involvement in Ukraine and a swift return to peace for all involved.
