US Forest Service opens public comment on environmental assessment of 45,647-acre Fourmile project in Pennsylvania's Allegheny National Forest; proposed management activities include timber harvesting, vegetation treatments, wildlife habitat improvements

BRADFORD, Pennsylvania , July 19, 2022 (press release) –

The USDA Forest Service is accepting public review and comment of the environmental assessment on the Fourmile project on the Bradford Ranger District of Allegheny National Forest.

The Fourmile project area is located on the Bradford Ranger District in Mead, Sheffield, and Glade Townships and Clarendon Borough, Warren County, PA and Hamilton Township, McKean County, PA. It encompasses approximately 45,647 acres of National Forest System lands.

The project proposed management activities include:

• Vegetation Treatments
• Timber Harvesting
• Wildlife Habitat Improvements
• Aquatic Restoration
• Non-Native Invasive Plant Species Treatments
• Road Management Activities

Comments must be submitted within 30 days of publication of the legal notice in The Bradford Era. The input received will help us refine the proposed action. Comments received, including the names and addresses of those who comment, will be available for public inspection as part of the project record.
