The U.S. Department of Labor reached an agreement with Leggett & Platt, a top U.S. bedding and furniture producer, in an alleged hiring discrimination issue, Woodworking Network reported. The company is to pay $407,402 in back wages and interest for alleged discriminatory practices at a North Carolina facility between 2018 and 2020, affecting 308 applicants. The firm also needs to provide 30 job offers to eligible parties and revise its hiring processes. Leggett & Platt holds contracts with the U.S Department of Justice, worth over $3 million since 2018.
