The Department of Health and Human Services Aug. 27 announced it will award more than $558 million to support maternal health initiatives. The Health Resources and Services Administration will award $440 million in funds to expand voluntary, evidence-based maternal, infant and early childhood home visiting services, while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will invest $118.5 million over five years to 46 states to improve public health infrastructure to better identify and prevent pregnancy-related deaths.
