The German paper industry welcomed the Gas Commission's final report presented today. "The gas price brake gives energy-intensive companies in Germany a perspective again," explained Winfried Schaur, President of DIE PAPIERINDUSTRIE. It is important that a solution has also been found for gas-fired CHP systems, which the paper industry has long been using to generate energy particularly efficiently. From the perspective of the paper industry, linking the aid to site and transformation agreements is a matter of course. "Especially in the paper industry, many companies have been firmly anchored at the site for generations," said Schaur. “We want to keep our production and our jobs in Germany. The aid that is now planned is an important factor in this. Politicians are therefore well advised to implement the Commission’s report in the same way.” The announced reduction in electricity costs via the electricity price brake is at least as important as the gas price brake. This must also be implemented quickly. Here, too, the CHP systems must be included so that the most efficient form of energy generation is not disadvantaged in the end. Return
