Industry Intelligence: Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, Rami. Can you talk to us about this new AI boom and where Industry Intelligence fits in?

Rami Ghandour: Of course. Well, I should start by reminding us that the concept of artificial intelligence is nothing new - it’s been around since the 1950’s. The excitement with AI now is the fact that machines can start being more human in one big aspect, which is language. In other words, you can talk to an AI like you would a person. That's always been the limiter.

Ghandour: It’s all about trust. If you put garbage in, you get garbage out. The pitfall of using popular regenerative AI like the public version of ChatGPT is that the dataset behind the AI engine is old, and you also don’t really know where the data are sourced from. That means AI can still get it wrong, and when it comes to businesses making big decisions, like a billion-dollar acquisition, nobody is going to rely on “Well, ChatGPT told me.” Business professionals need to rely on good sources.

Ghandour: To improve with AI, you have to know how to apply it. Some people will think just by having access to something called “AI” that is now the coolest thing in the world, it will give them all the answers. Then, they will eventually start getting some wrong answers and say, “Forget it. This is no good.” And now they’re in an even worse spot.

But for us, AI is perfect. We have always believed in enabling every person to define their own needs in the language they use, not in code. And now, we have the technology to do this in a way we never could before. This same technology that has the potential to kill every business finally solves all our problems.
