The Chick-fil-A SERVE Leadership Model on Display at the Nation's Capital

June 20, 2024 (press release) –

Over 100 top Junior Achievement students journeyed to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National Student Leadership Summit

This June, more than 100 of the top Junior Achievement® students from across the country – including one of Chick-fil-A’s 2024 Community Scholars winners – traveled to the Nation’s Capital to connect with other students and enhance their educational journeys at the 2024 Junior Achievement National Student Leadership Summit

Honoring Innovation and Celebrating Students

The annual National Student Leadership Summit celebrates the ingenuity and innovation of Junior Achievement students and spotlights their success through a series of competitions, including a stock market challenge, social innovation challenge and more. Students participated in numerous professional development workshops aimed at enhancing skills such as critical thinking, innovation, communication and promoting social impact. The workshops were led by national experts in innovation, entrepreneurship and business, including leaders from Chick-fil-A, Inc.

“The National Student Leadership Summit is just one of the many ways that Junior Achievement seeks to empower young people to grow in their leadership, creativity and professional development,” said Junior Achievement President and CEO Jack E. Kosakowski. “This year, for the first time ever, more than 100 students put their learning experiences to the test in front of their peers, business leaders and even members of Congress, helping them prepare for their future careers and beyond.”

At the summit, Chick-fil-A led a workshop on the SERVE Leadership Model, growing students’ leadership skills and teaching them more about the ins and outs of the Chick-fil-A business. Keith Singletary, the local Owner-Operator of two Chick-fil-A® restaurants in Maryland and a former Junior Achievement Finance Park sponsor, also served as a competition judge during the summit.

“Junior Achievement has been an incredible partner to Chick-fil-A over the past 12 years in helping us carry on the legacy of our Founder, S. Truett Cathy, and his passion for helping young people reach their full potential,” said Keith Singletary. “I was honored to be a part of this year’s summit as a judge and loved the chance to have a small, positive impact on these young student leaders.”

Through opportunities to showcase talents and skills to thrilling competitions and workshops to help grow opportunities for advancement, this year’s National Student Leadership Summit empowered young leaders in remarkable ways.
