Snacks Roundup: Kellanova and Minecraft join forces once again; Pringles is ready to mingle(s); and Mike's Hot Honey just go hotter

LOS ANGELES , May 20, 2024 () –

The latest in what's going on in the world of savory snacks:

Kellanova and Minecraft back at it again

Kellanova has announced the limited-time offering of the new Pringles Minecraft Spicy TNT, developed in collaboration with Minecraft in celebration of the game's 15th anniversary. The new product features flavors of cheese and spicy peppers.

This new flavor release comes just one year after Pringles launched its first gamified flavor inspired by Minecraft's Suspicious Stew.

"Our new limited edition Spicy TNT flavor is a great showcase of how snacking and gaming come together," said Mauricio Jenkins, U.S. marketing lead for Pringles. "Whether you're an ultimate gamer or tackling your quests IRL, Pringles helps to fuel gaming sessions with the delicious flavor combinations our fans know and love".

Speaking of Pringles...

Kellanova is also introducing Pringles Mingles, a puffed alternative to the chip that will come in a bag.

Mingles are described as crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. The puffs come in bowtie shapes, modeled after the brand’s mustached mascot Mr. P.

The snack will be available begining in October in three flavors: Cheddar & Sour Cream, Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch and Dill Pickle & Ranch.

Mike's Hot Honey now 'Extra Hot'

Utz Brands has announced the limited-time launch of the new Utz Mike’s Hot Honey Extra Hot potato chips, available now through September.

The flavor builds off the original Utz Mike’s Hot Honey chips but with three times the heat, the company said.

The original Utz Mike’s Hot Honey potato chips were launched as a limited-time offer in May 2023. They became a permanent flavor in August of the same year due to their skyrocketing popularity, with sales exceeding Utz’s previous limited-time launches.

“We know hot and spicy is currently the No. 1 flavor in salty snacks. That’s why, following the success of our original Mike’s Hot Honey potato chips, we wanted to offer fans an even hotter snacking option,” said Utz Brands' Marketing Director Amber McGrogan. “Mike’s Hot Honey has been a great partner over the last year, and we look forward to continuing to work together to bring the sweet heat to snacking fans nationwide.”
