Kraft Mac & Cheese packaging comforts fans of sports teams that lose

For diehard sports fans, a defeat during a tournament playoff game can feel especially painful. Kraft Mac & Cheese understands that despair, which is why it debuted its Basketbawl Blue Boxes throughout the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. Designed to comfort sports fans after a loss, the packaging design featured an upside-down signature macaroni and cheese noodle on the front cover—making it appear like a frowning face as opposed to the traditional smiley face. The front and back covers also had words of encouragement. The front stated: "Comfort that's down to frown with you," showing that, even if your team lost, Kraft is there to help comfort you back to happiness. The special edition boxes were sold online for one hour after each collegiate basketball game in the championship.

Kellogg's Australia emphasizes cereal nutrition in updated box design

In food packaging design, a product’s nutrition information is oftentimes treated as an afterthought, usually with a small white label with a minuscule list of ingredients on the back. Kellogg’s Australia decided to take a different approach with its new cereal box designs, making its nutrition information the primary focus. The new nutrition label is designed to be easy to read, as it has a uniform background color regardless of the box's style. Furthermore, images and icons reflect the nutritional information of each product, and take up roughly one-third of the front of the box, making it easy for consumers to immediately determine the contents of the box. With the updated design, health information and other critical information for Kellogg’s cereals becomes more accessible.

Reusable containers can fit virtually any food shape

The DeliOne Flex'n Fresh Container is a reusable container designed to conform to the shape of food. In other words, if food is taller than the container’s walls, it can still be stored without being squished. The design consists of a rigid base plus a malleable stretching lid with locking components. According to the product’s Kickstarter page, the lidding is made of platinum liquid silicone and comes from a Japanese material partner. The lid is capable of extending up to 200% of its height and will increase the container’s total volume by 50%. Furthermore, it can be stretched up to 10,000 times without cracking or breaking. The airtight containers are dishwasher-save, freezer-save, microwaveable and ovenable.
