Foodservice packaging makes it easier to enjoy on-the-go meals

When a meal can’t be eaten at a table, the Beltur Go range of recyclable paper packaging solutions offers a convenient solution. Created by designer Musa Celik for Istanbul-based food and beverage company Beltur, the packaging is ideal for busy individuals or for eating occasions at large stadiums and parks. The first item in the range—a food container with opening and closing flaps—features a small hole in the middle, allowing for a fork or spoon to poke through and sit upright for easy access. That same container can also be used with a second item in the range, a cup. When paired together, the food container rests on top of the cup while the cup’s straw comes through, allowing consumers to easily drink their beverages while carrying their food. The third item is a carrying box that can hold three separate items, such as a coffee cup, cookies and a water container. Overall, each design in the range allows for meals to be arranged in a convenient and hygienic manner, making everyday life better and more enjoyable.

Japanese artist turns paper packaging into playful sculptures

Discarded food and beverage packaging is the medium of choice for Japanese artist Harukiru’s playful and clever creations. To construct them, Harukiru uses a Japanese technique called kirigami, a variation of origami that involves cutting and folding paper into three-dimensional designs. Harukiru’s creations include Pringles chip containers formed into figurines of the Mr. Pringles mascot standing in playful poses; a Cup Noodles container formed into a fearsome dinosaur; a Janat Paris tea bag box formed into a sculpture of a man reading a book at a café; Häagen-Dazs cartons and boxes formed into colorful birds and an ornate bird cage; and a Chivas Regal box formed into a medieval knight and sword.

Kim Kardashian attends fashion show wearing Balenciaga packing tape

Could packaging materials become the next trend in fashion? If any person were to make that a reality, Kim Kardashian would be it. Recently, the media personality, businesswoman and all-around powerhouse attended the Balenciaga Winter ’22 show during Paris Fashion Week wrapped from neck to toe in yellow Balenciaga-branded packing tape. She took to Instagram on March 7, revealing that four assistants helped her transform the tape into her eye-catching outfit. To complete the look, Kardashian’s boots and purse were also covered with the tape and she donned a pair of futuristic black sunglasses.
