Original Press Release:

Assago, May 28 -- Nestle issued the following news release:

- Gender equity, inclusion and valorisation of diversity are the cornerstones of Nestlé's corporate philosophy

The Nestlé Group in Italy has obtained the UNI/PDR 125:2022 certification for gender equality , issued by the certification body Bureau Veritas . This is an important recognition of the company's commitment to include and enhance diversity through the promotion of gender equality policies and the adoption of corporate welfare measures aimed at a fair distribution of family burdens, such as " Nestlé Baby Leave ”, the 100% paid 3-month leave dedicated to new fathers or second caregivers.

The effort that the Group is making with a view to gender equity has already begun to produce important results. In Italy , in fact, Nestlé reaches 49.3% of women who hold the role of Managers  and 35.2% that of Managers [1] . Numbers that are decidedly higher than the average for our country, in which women classified as managers reach only 32% and 21.4% [2] as regards the managerial level. Even looking at typically male-majority sectors such as Sales and Operations, the company has an excellent balance between women and men in managerial positions , the result of constant attention to internal policies for selecting and promoting staff and raising awareness against stereotypes of gender that still today penalize women in their careers.

Also with regards to wages, Nestlé is continuing to protect the value of women's work and increasingly improve its equal pay policies .

The adoption of Diversity&Inclusion policies represents a fundamental pillar of Nestlé's corporate philosophy. For this reason, the company works every day to promote inclusion and equality both at work and in all other social contexts.

Nestlé's commitment against violence against women is part of this direction , which takes shape through awareness campaigns and collaborations with Anti-Violence Centres , identifying with them, where possible, paths for the employment placement of victims of violence in the company.

“We are proud to have obtained the certification for gender equality, which formally establishes our constant effort to create an increasingly fair and inclusive working environment, in which all people can express themselves freely and make their gender diversity , sexual orientation, age and religion are a strength and not a weakness. We will continue to work hard to ensure that each of our people has equal opportunities for personal and professional growth within our company”  commented Giacomo Piantoni , Human Resources Director of the Nestlé Group in Italy .

The certification process involved the company Nestlé Italiana SpA, leader of the Nestlé group in Italy , which includes the headquarters in Assago and the production plants in Portogruaro (Venice) and San Sisto ( Perugia ).
