Dutch Bros franchisee Jesse Guthrie opens new shop in San Bernardino, California; Guthrie credits company culture for personal growth and success

October 16, 2024 (press release) –

“It’s been a great week. I’m just grateful!”

Jesse Guthrie and his crew have spent the last week serving up amazing experiences at his new shop in San Bernardino, California. The grand opening was in early October, it’s been in the works for ten years.

“This company means a lot,” Jesse shared this week after finishing a shift at his shop. “I moved around a lot growing up. I grew up with a single dad. I’ve always had a good relationship with my pops, but not a whole lot of family or stability.”

Jesse found his family when he joined Dutch Bros in Springfield, Oregon. “Going to ‘work’ was just going to kick it with my friends and family. I happened to get paid for it and met so many incredible people.”

Through his time at Dutch Bros, he learned the importance of connection with both customers and crews. Those interactions built the foundation for his compelling future.

“You never know who’s going to come through and what their story is. You never know what :30-:45 seconds of meaningful, intentional action can bring. It’s the difference that Dutch Bros brings to the table- we care, you’re treated as family and everybody is welcome.”

For Jesse, the mission to make a massive difference and the dedication to creating a compelling future goes beyond words. He gets emotional thinking about what Dutch Bros has done for him and everything crews can do for communities.

“A lot of people take it for granted how good connecting with people can make you feel. That’s why the people I’ve met through Dutch Bros are my family- they care,” Jesse shared. “I’ve worked in 30 different shops, I’ve called 10-15 shops home, and I remember everybody and everyone stays in touch.”

While Jesse is stoked to open and serve in San Bernardino, his compelling future isn’t about sales. It’s focused on creating a compelling future for others and supporting them just like his Dutch family has supported him.

“It’s like a champagne waterfall. The top pours down into their leaders, the leaders pour into their broistas, and the broistas pour into trainees and their customers. It’s about creating a better future for the next generation.”
