50/50 Foods: Bridging the gap between the meat people crave and the health they desire, says CEO Andrew Arentowicz

LOS ANGELES , September 12, 2024 () –

"Why can't we have both?"

That was the question Andrew Arentowicz asked himself one day while lamenting the fact that he felt forced to choose between the meat he regularly craved and the health he desired. Arentowicz had two options--"100% meat or 100% plant"--and neither seemed optimal to hm.

"As a meat lover, I knew it wasn’t realistic to give up meat completely," Arentowicz said. "But what if there was a way to simply reduce the amount of beef enough to make a real difference without compromising on taste or ingredient quality?"

So Arentowicz and others went to work in the kitchen to try and create a 50% beef, 50% veggie burger that would taste better than any 100% plant burger and a 100% beef burger, using popular flavor enhancing toppings like roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions and roasted garlic inside the burgers.

The result? The formation of 50/50 Foods and its flagship Both Burger, featuring premium grass-fed Angus beef combined with a proprietary blend of roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, riced broccoli and cauliflower.

"As the first and only USDA approved 50/50 burger (50% beef, 50% all-natural veggies), consumers can now savor a burger that is BOTH healthy and delicious, BOTH good for your heart and good for the planet," Arentowicz said.

The mission of 50/50 Foods--whose products are available in over 140 retail stores and restaurants--is to deliver exceptional foods to the large and growing population of flexitarians: consumers who still love to eat meat and don’t love the taste or ingredient profiles of processed “plant” products. This includes consumers who want to eat more healthfully, consumers who care about the environment, and parents who want the best for their kids and utilize stealth health.

"By focusing on flavor and only real ingredients, we’ve created a premium product that eliminates the feeling of sacrifice, and delivers an unprecendented level of satisfaction to keep customers coming back to your restaurants and stores for more," Arentowicz said.

"We at 50/50 Foods, Inc are committed to eating 50% less meat. Which means we aren’t going to stop with our flagship BOTH Burger. Stay tuned for the release of our next line of delicious 50/50 hot dogs and 50/50 chicken nuggets. Thanks, as always, for joining us on this delicious journey!"
