'Be the show, not the commercial': Cali BBQ aims to help restaurant and hospitality brands and leaders leverage "the new Business Creator Economy with strategic Digital Storytelling and Digital Hospitality'

Los Angeles , December 2, 2024 () –

“Be the show, not the commercial.”

That's the motto that Shawn Walchef, founder of Cali BBQ, lives by when helping restaurant and hospitality brands and leaders leverage "the new Business Creator Economy with strategic Digital Storytelling and Digital Hospitality."

"I help hospitality brands and leaders tell better stories online," Walchef said. "We create original shows for hospitality brands, working with executives, CEO’s and marketing teams to amplify their online storytelling."

Walchef doesn't just help create original shows. He also has one of his own. His weekly video series entitled "Restaurant Influencers," which is published by Entrepreneur Media and produced by Cali BBQ, has been seen by over 25 million people.

On the show, listeners will find top leaders in the restaurant and hospitality industries share their secrets to smartphone storytelling and showing up where your customers are spending time online, Walchef said.

And last but not least, since 2008 Walchef has owned Cali Comfort BBQ in East San Diego County. In order to survive in the restaurant world, Walchef knew he would have to do more than serve delicious food.

"I knew early on that I had to operate my family restaurant and sports bar like a media company," he said.

The result? The restaurant chain has generated more than $35 million since opening in 2008.

Or to put it more simply:

The restaurant became the show, not the commercial.
