Cleveland OH, June 11, 2024 – According to the study, Latin America Foodservice Disposables, demand for foodservice single-use products in Brazil is expected to increase 3.9% per year to 41 billion units in 2027. The growing popularity of quick-service and fast casual restaurants will support gains going forward, as will expansion of carryout and delivery orders at all types of eating and drinking places. In the limited-service market, expansions in the number of quick-service chains and an increase in delivery and carryout orders in urban areas will be the primary contributor to growth. In contrast, the full-service restaurant market, although experiencing increases in delivery volume that is also increasing the use of disposables per order, will remain a relatively smaller outlet for disposable products. Demand for foodservice disposables is further supported by operators making improvements to existing packaging to optimize delivery, launching new products that require new packaging design, and offering combos and promotions that require higher amounts of packaging. A shift toward more sustainable products due to increasing environmental regulation will boost growth in market value. Historically, the retail and noncommercial segment market for disposables in Brazil has been restricted by cultural preferences for where and how food is eaten and served. For example, convenience and grocery stores are not as popular in Brazil for quick meals as they are in Mexico. The preference for dining out or purchasing from specialized food vendors is more deeply ingrained in Brazilian culinary culture. While convenience stores and grocery stores in Brazil do offer some ready-to-eat or quick meal options, customers commonly prefer street vendors, snack bars, fast food chains, and local eateries for quick meals.
