LOS ANGELES , February 2, 2023 () –

South Korea-based TFJ says it has developed a new fiber called Materium, which is comprised of carbon fibers and is flame-resistant, Textile Technology reported Jan. 26.

The intelligent fiber company says Materium can serve as a replacement for aramid fibers and behaves similarly to acrylics. Materium is soft, flexible, and can be blended with other fibers into composites.
