Dow Chemical to showcase complete range of silicone release coatings, acrylic and silicone adhesives at Labelexpo Americas in Rosemont, Illinois, Sept. 13-15

MIDLAND, Michigan , September 7, 2022 (press release) –

As we look towards a more sustainable future for the labeling industry, Dow (NYSE: DOW) will showcase its complete range of silicone release coatings and acrylic and silicone adhesives at Booth 1029 during Labelexpo Americas 2022 in Rosemont, IL from September 13-15, 2022.

“The theme of this year’s Labelexpo Americas – ‘Aspire. Evolve. Succeed.’ – is directly aligned with the work we’re doing with our customers and partners in the labeling industry to develop solutions that meet reliability, performance, efficiency and sustainability standards,” said Taylor Hesch, North America Market Manager for Dow Adhesives. “We’re looking forward to connecting with attendees at the show to learn more about the performance they want from their release liners and help identify ways we can leverage our expertise to collaborate and achieve those goals together.”

Solutions that stick — and release

Attendees at the show will be able to see how Dow’s portfolio of high-speed release coatings is pushing the boundaries of sustainable, silicone-based labeling technologies. With the demand for self-adhesive labels on the rise, it’s critical that the labeling industry continues to look for opportunities to improve production efficiency, including increasing converting speeds.

Current coating speeds can exceed 1,000 meters per minute and will continue to get quicker, but trying to maintain these faster speeds doesn’t come without its challenges. Dow’s high-speed release coating solutions are future-proofed for up to 1,300 meters per minute and enable quicker production rates with lower curing temperatures, stronger anchorage and reduced misting to allow for greater efficiency and reduced down time.

“While performance is certainly a critical element of our high-speed release coatings, so too is sustainability,” said Eden Drier, Market Development Manager for Dow Pressure Sensitive Industries. “At Dow we’re committed to not only reducing our environmental footprint, but also helping our customers do the same through the use of safer materials that will help drive a circular economy. This powerful combination of performance and sustainability can be found in our existing range of labeling solutions, as well as future solutions that we partner with our customers to develop.”

Visitors to Dow’s booth will also be able to learn about its range of silicone and water-borne acrylic adhesives that offer performance under pressure, adhesive strength, UV resistance, temperature stability and processing efficiencies for pressure sensitive paper and film labels and labels for packaging and industrial applications.

Additionally, Dow will showcase an interactive showpad at its booth where visitors can virtually tour the “Total Solutions Superstore” to experience the breadth of label use and Dow’s synergistic capabilities for applications including health and beauty, grocery, warehouses and more.
