Ashland collaborates with University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy to sponsor advanced pharmaceutical tableting course at the Ashland state-of-the-art Research Center; course offers professionals hands-on training in design, processing, manufacturing

WILMINGTON, Del., July 6, 2023 – Ashland is collaborating with The Pii Center for Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, to present The Advanced Hands-on Course in Tablet Technology at the Ashland state-of-the-art Research Center in Wilmington, Delaware.  

The course convenes Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. ET for registration and reception. Morning lectures from Monday through Thursday provide in-depth training in select areas of oral solid dosage form processing and manufacturing, followed by hands-on practice in afternoon laboratory sessions.

Lectures and labs will be conducted by external speakers from Merck & Co., Inc., Bristol Myers Squibb, Freund Vector Corporation, Medelpharm-Korsch AG, Leistritz Advanced Technologies Corporation, and GEA Group, in addition to lecturers from the University of Mississippi and Ashland.

“This four-day course is designed for professionals in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and related industries who work in research and development, manufacturing, quality control assurance, or regulatory compliance,” said Thomas Durig, senior R&D director, life sciences, Ashland. ”The prerequisite is a fundamental understanding of the science of tablet technology and a desire to gain more knowledge and experience in advanced areas of design and practice.
