The acquisition of Ondura is another significant step in this journey, alongside the recently announced acquisition of Derbigum - the Belgian-based premium waterproofing membrane producer with its unique “No Roof to Waste” offering. Together, these businesses are a key step in the formation of a new Division for Kingspan: Kingspan Roofing & Waterproofing.
Ondura is a global business focusing on waterproofing solutions for buildings and will significantly enhance our portfolio of building envelope solutions. The acquisition is fully aligned with our long-stated strategy to develop a broader portfolio of roofing solutions.
The acquisition offers strong growth potential. The Ondura Group unites leading companies in their fields: Onduline (lightweight pitched roofing with high recycled content), CB (breathable membranes and roofing accessories) and alwitra (single ply flat roofing systems). The acquisition includes Ondura’s factories in France, Germany, Poland, Spain, the United States, Malaysia, Brazil and Turkey.  Ondura’s 5 main ranges for pitched and flat roofs represent a very attractive opportunity for complementary growth.
With 70% of sales driven by renovation and refurbishment markets, focusing particularly on the residential sector,  Ondura’s companies – Onduline, alwitra and CB – offer a variety of growth and cross-selling opportunities, and position both Kingspan and the newest business in our family to meet the urgent need to improve the energy performance of existing building stock.
Kingspan is especially excited to be working with Ondura’s existing management team, and the management teams of the three businesses within the Ondura Group, who will continue to manage and develop the group of businesses going forward. Over the past five years, these teams have successfully grown Ondura and its companies into a thriving international group, fostering a highly entrepreneurial and collaborative culture with a strong focus on growth and customer excellence. This team has built Ondura’s three brands – Onduline, alwitra and CB  - to market-leading positions and they will continue to operate as independent companies.
